Omorovicza is a Hungarian skincare brand which harnesses ancient thermal spring secrets combined with a Nobel Prize-winning laboratory to make incredible skincare products. The brand was inspired by the desire of the owners to replicate the effects of the healing waters of Budapest on their own skin. Omorovicza is used by many celebrities and frequently used to prep models backstage during fashion week. Their products have won them various Beauty Awards with Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and InStyle to name a few.
I was excited to try out their products and experience some of the ‘magic healing powers’ through their patented Hydro Mineral Transference™ system. Hydro Mineral Transference works to allow optimal absorption of the ingredients to induce healing of the skin. Now tell me who doesn’t want a piece of that? In this review I will be writing about my favourite must-have products.
My skin: I have normal to combination skin. I tend to get oily throughout the day on my forehead and brow area, and have dry patches around my nose and mouth. I don’t have crazy breakouts but I get a few spots every month.
Skin concerns: Dry skin, Uneven skin tone, Prevention & Protection.
This review is on my personal experience of the products and everyone reacts differently to certain ingredients so please keep that in mind. It may be a good idea to consult with your GP or dermatologist before trying a new skincare regime.
1. Thermal Cleansing Balm
The Thermal Cleansing Balm is one of the best cleansers I have ever used thus far. I was a little skeptical at first because I’m accustomed to foaming cleansers or gel cleansers. The initial reaction to the consistency reminds me of an exfoliating cleanser, but it’s far from it. The balm melts into your skin and works quickly to move makeup and dirt. I love using this at night to take off my makeup and wash the busy day off my face. You only need a pea-sized amount on dry skin to massage and work it into your skin to activate the moor mud. Start with your cheeks and work in a circular motion, once it is broken down, you can work it up to your eye area and it will remove make up. Moor mud helps to detoxify and cleanse the skin and in this case it really left my face feeling smooth and supple. As well as this, my skin didn’t end up feeling dry or tight as it can do with other cleansing products. To remove this one use warm water and a face mitt/face cloth to gently wipe it off. Gently remove all of the cleanser and then finish off with a pat of cold water on the face to really make the skin feel supple and in amazing condition. I love the smell and texture of this balm. This has won many awards and is a global bestseller for a very good reason.
2. Queen of Hungary Mist
The Queen of Hungary Mist is really something else. This is a luxury spritz toner and moisturiser. I am in love with it because of the smell and calming effect on the skin. Mist onto your face morning and night, or whenever your skins needs a little pick-me-up. This is a perfect in-flight mist if you are a globetrotter and feeling dehydrated while travelling. I think it’s perfect for using over makeup during the day just to freshen up and brighten your complexion. In my experience it doesn’t make my mascara run down my face. This is also great for after the beach or during a party to rehydrate. I currently use it at home after a shower or face cleansing as a toner and it really works wonders for my skin and helps the products I use after it to be absorbed and gain the benefits. I honestly don’t even use toner anymore and I just go for this beautiful little bottle. Mineral-rich Hungarian thermal water every damn day, please.
Other facial mists that I love: Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs & Rosewater
3. Cleansing Mitt
I use this in the morning and in the shower and in the night. I love it so much! The cotton is thick and it is lovely and soft on your skin. It is a mitt so it’s extremely easy to use and wash. It removes cleansers and masks to leave skin soft and clean. I use it to remove my makeup and cleanser in one step. Skincare tip: for residual eye makeup I will take a Q-tip/cotton bud and dampen it with Garnier Micellar water. Then I will run the tip over my eye area gently to remove eyeliner and mascara in hard-to-reach areas of the eye.
4. Cleansing foam
The Cleansing Foam is a cleanser that is so great for travelling and keeping in the shower. The colour of the product is baby blue and the smell is divine. I love it so much that I’m onto my third tube! My skin feels refreshed and super clean after using it. It is marketed as being ideal for all skin types, and helps to soothe dryness and sensitivity. I have a complexion that is easily upset by cleansers and I found this one to work really well with my skin. You only need half a pea-sized amount on your hands and you just rub it between your hands and massage gently onto your face. Any more than this will just be a waste of product. This product emulsifies really well and after rinsing it off your skin will feel really nourished and invigorated.
5. Balancing moisturiser
The Balancing Moisturiser has been so good to my skin so far. Super lightweight and it is actually a gel-cream texture which is very soothing upon application. After using this my dryness is relieved and the finish is not too heavy on the skin. I usually feel like an oil slick after moisturiser or primer and this one gives my skin have a soft matte appearance. My pores appear smaller, my skin is plumped and ready for the day ahead. I love anything in a pump bottle, because it is convenient to use and more hygienic over a long period of usage. It is not an oil-free cream, but does an amazing job on combating oiliness – rather it makes the skin appear radiant. I like using this one during the day before applying makeup.
Notable mentions: Gold Rescue Cream, Elemental Emulsion, and Deep Cleansing Mask.
