A few of my favourite things

05/04/2019

Hey guys! I know it has been a little while. Just got my notification to renew my site hosting and that gave me a little kick up the butt to write something. The truth is that I’ve been focusing so much on work, new challenges and moving house that my content creation has taken a backseat. I wanted to update you guys on some of my favourite bits and pieces that I’ve picked up.

Here are a few of my favourite (bedside table) things for 2019 so far:

Current Jewellery faves (from left to right):

Mejuri Sun Necklace with White Sapphire – Love this as a dainty necklace which seemingly matches all my outfits currently.

Reliquia Star Sign Necklace in Aquarius – Perfect as a birthday gift with an engraved star sign pendant. They have a very vintage / traditional vibe to them, but don’t appear dated. You can easily wear them everyday, in winter with ‘jeans and a nice top’ or with a summer sun dress.

Missoma London x Lucy Williams Golden Roman Arc Coin Necklace – What a collaboration. Beautiful pieces. Great amulet status symbols and ancient iconography for the 21st century modern day woman. These are statement pieces that will definitely elevate your outfits.

Tom Ford Satin Matte Lip Color – 02 La Nudite
This is a warm beige colour that is the perfect nude on me which doesn’t make me look washed out and tired. It has a beautiful velvety texture and feels great on the lips as it is not drying at all. This appears to be slightly hydrating over time, which is great for re-applying throughout the day. The product information states that the “nourishing ingredients of iconic Tom Ford Lip Color, including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil, along with collagen and a rich blend of marine-based ingredients that smooth and moisturize lips for the appearance of the ultimate voluptuous look.” I like that this lipstick has a matte look, but the feel of a satin finish thanks to the formula of exotic oils that they have claimed. I wanted a matte lipstick which doesn’t amplify texture too much and doesn’t dry out my lips as I wear it for hours and hours. This shade will compliment so many different skin tones, and I feel that it will will particularly flatter some of the Fitzpatrick III-V range of skin types. This is a great base nude which has the buttery feeling of a balm but has the coverage of a blotted matte lipstick. Thank you Tom Ford and team.

Byredo Bal D’Afrique Perfume
Wow. Where do I begin? The fragrance is inspired by the decadence and romance of the late 1920’s era in Paris, which reveals notes of heavy cedar and vetiver.   This smells delightfully of pineapple, bergamot, neroli, jasmine, African marigold, and then settles on the skin with a beautiful amber, musk and Moroccan cedar wood. My skin absolutely drinks it in and loves it. fragrance inspired by the decadent 20’s Paris and its infatuation with African art, culture, movement, and music. For me this scent is juicy, carefree, and relaxing.

Ecoya Natural Soy Wax Candles (Always. All time fave.)
Ecoya needs no introduction. The candles are a natural soy wax in an elegant glass jar sealed with a decadent gold lid. The candle offers a very good increased burn time of up to 80 hours. The candle pictured above has a fragrance which combines Dark Chocolate Meringue and Raspberry scent to resemble the smell of a freshly baked tart. This is infused with almond, velvety chocolate and hints of the sweetest Indonesian vanilla, red raspberry and caramel as per the site notes. I love this for the Easter season, festive season, and pretty much any time of the year. I love this in my living room as I sometimes get a whiff of the aroma and random times throughout the day even whilst the candle is not lit and has the lid placed on. Ecoya candles always provide the best sensory experience and will always be included in my favourite things.

Let me know some of your fave beauty products and accessories this 2019.
