Valentine’s Day for Everyone: A Gift Guide For Yourself

Hey, babes! This is my gift guide for Valentine’s Day, but rather than being for your significant other, this one is for YOU. Now it’s my belief that Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples, but also a perfect day for treating yourself and taking care of yourself, if you’re single. Valentine’s Day has a very old and muddled history and I don’t think we truly know where it came from.

One legend states that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. Other stories contend that an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first “Valentine” greeting himself after he fell in love with a young girl. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter that was signed “From your Valentine”.

Now after major marketing schemes and the commercialisation of Love, we have Valentine’s Day on February 14th of every year. Not everybody likes Valentine’s Day, because it is such a commercialised holiday and it can either make you feel pressured or alone, or perhaps you dont care much for it. I feel that its a great opportunity to be a day where you can declare your love for yourself. Sometimes we don’t always make time for ourselves or treat ourselves very often. Let Valentines day become a day for you!

Below is my gift guide for women and men. Of course, you might love or hate some of these products, but hopefully it can help you figure out what special things you can do for YOU.
